Dr. Najem Al-Falahe has extensive experience in basic research, applied research and four clinical settings in medicine: family medicine, neurology, neurophysiology and psychiatry. He is an expert in the impact of human behaviour on changes in brain activity.
As lead consultant for a multidisciplinary team he emphasizes the importance of exceptional teamwork in providing the most effective treatment and management plan for the patient's recovery.
UK Chief investigator for the BRIDGE screening programme. The purpose of this study was to screen patients with depression who might suffer from concealed Bipolar illnesses. Since 2010, Dr. Najem started annual seminars to improve the care for Arabic Patients in the UK.
He also conducted several international studies to find the optimum treatment for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and Bipolar Affective Disorders. The results of these studies were presented at international psychiatric conferences.
Dr Al-Falahe is interested in the impact of stress on wellbeing. Usually it is the cause of anxiety, panic attacks and depression. It can also trigger hypomanic and manic episodes in people. The holistic approach has helped Dr Al-Falahe to deal with psychosomatic effectively. Other areas he specialises in include anger management, memory impairment and concentration difficulties.
