Gareth Michael has over a eight years in the health, wellness and fitness industry, he has created an integrated approach to helping clients improve fitness and health. This approach includes common components such as mobility, core and strength training, nutrition and lifestyle coaching; yet because we are all infinitely unique, each client program is also unique.
Gareth has studied as a C.H.E.K Practitioner. A specialist in Corrective Exercise and High-performance Kinesiology. Trained in assessment techniques and individualized application of exercise and exercise programs from numerous techniques and assessments based on orthopedics, massage therapy, chiropractics, and alternative healthcare
Gareth has also gained qualification as a CHEK Holistic Lifestyle Coach, a specialist in wellness, stress management and lifestyle coaching. Gareth comes from a highly varied background including fitness professional and health care. A CHEK practitioner assesses the body from a causative point of view rather than address the problem from the point of pain or injury. This is to ensure that the problem does not reoccur and the individual can continue on their path to excelling. Gareth not only works with individuals suffering existing injuries, pain or health roadblocks. He works with anyone who has a goal and prioritises their program to include high level assessments so as to prevent injury.
Assessment techniques include Infant Development to identify developmental issues, a Primal Pattern (™) assessment to assess movements essential to life and sports performance, orthopedic assessments and physiological loads to determine stress levels in clients. Gareth can assess posture, biomechanics, nutritional and lifestyle screening, hormonal, emotional and spiritual factors, and spinal pathologies. If he can identify what the problem is then he has have a way of strategizing and hitting the problem from multiple angles, rather than just using one tool or one system. The body is a system of systems and must be approached as such. His intention is to help clients understand how the systems of the body are connected, and being in balance is crucial to improved health and life-long vitality.
