Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy - MBCT. Mindfulness is the AWARENESS that comes from paying attention, on purpose, in the present moment, non-judgementally -(Jon Kabat-Zinn 1990).

You don't need to be ill to benefit from learning and practising mindfulness in your life. Mindfulness helps everyone who feels dissatisfied with life in some way and are wishing to enhance their general physical and mental wellbeing.

MBCT - a small history

MBCT is based on 2,600 year old psychologies discussed in Buddhist writings, but has been studied using modern clinical methods who can show real changes in the brains of those who meditate. This simple method of living is now taught in a completely secular program called MBCT.

The traditional 8-week course in MBCT (a third-wave CBT approach) is NICE recommended for recurrent depression and helps with:
